5th Anniversary – MHS Hot Meals Seva Project

The weekend, 28 July 2018, saw the members of Midlands Hindu Society undertake a mass feeding program to mark the 5th anniversary of Midlands Hindu Society’s Hot Meals Seva Project.

The feeding scheme was started to bring relief to those in need on a regular basis and hot meals are served weekly on a Monday night and on one Saturday of the month.

The project commenced on the 11th March 2013 and to date Midlands Hindu Society has served some
65 000 plates of food to those in need.
This weekend’s initiative saw the Midlands Hindu Society prepare 5 pots of breyani, which was sent out into the community with 4 serving  teams and approx. 1000 plates were served.

Apart from the regular areas that are served under the scheme, the Sunnyside Park Homes & HS Ebrahim School were also served.In addition to the hot meals, sandwiches are also prepared for the children at the H S Ebrahim School on a Wednesday.
