Sunday saw over 300 locals take to the streets to pledge their commitment to human values.
The Sathya Sai International Organisation South Africa embarked on a National Walk for Values walkathon on Sunday with over 120 Sathya Sai centres and various community bases organisations from across the country coming together in unity in their respective locations.
The SSIO SA Midlands Region, led by Sister Aarti Singh, was part of this global initiative of the Sathya Sai International Organisation to host a Walk for Values walkathon. The purpose of the walk was to raise awareness about positive core Human Values such as Love, Truth, Non-Violence, Peace and Right Conduct. The vision is to restore righteous living to its pristine glory and to resonate as a transformed human being to live in harmony with man and nature.
The response from members, other organisation, PMB Children’s Home and the Sunlit Gardens contributed largely to the success of the event showing Unity in Diversity. Over 300 participants took to the streets in Pietermaritzburg to walk for Mother Nature by “Going Green” to Recycle, Reuse and Refuse and to show their care and support for our planet.
Advocate R. Nirghin, President of the Midlands Hindu Society, addressed the participants and commended the organisation for its attempts to elevate good relations between the inhabitancy of Pietermaritzburg. The use of placards, banners and universal messages of unity among mankind were highlighted and reflected by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Baba’s immortal teachings and lent itself to the magnitude of his mission that is for man to find that inherent divinity within himself which has touched millions across the world.
