Reach for a dream raised R70026.00 in Kwazulu-Natal during the December 2019 festive period.
Midlands Hindu Society partnered with Reach for a Dream and Toys R Us at Midlands Liberty Mall and coordinated 50 volunteers made up of scholars and senior youth, who assisted in manning the gift wrapping station in Toys R Us at Midlands Liberty Mall during the two weeks of December preceding Christmas. These youth were presented with certificates of appreciation and letters of commendation on Sunday 9th February 2020 at Orient Heights Primary School for their time and effort raising funds to bring joy, hope and healing to children between the ages of 3 to 18 years who have used their dreams to fight life-threatening illnesses.
Many of the youth volunteers shared stories of fun and joy from their personal experiences of wrapping unique items like a soccer ball, a doll without a box and a tricycle. These happy moments will remain etched in their memories forever together with the new friendships that they have built with other youth volunteers.
Reach for a Dream extended its gratitude to the Midlands Hindu Society Youth and volunteers for giving up their holiday time and putting in the effort to raise a significant amount of funds for the foundation.
Midlands Hindu Society Youth Council hope to build the character and leadership of youth promoting the Hindu values of service to man kind is service to God inspiring youth to be grounded in the divine.
