Dear Affiliates, Friends and Supporters of Midlands Hindu Society
As you are aware, the people of our province and particularly those in the Durban area have been hit with devastation resulting from the floods which occurred this week. People have been left with very little and in some cases, nothing.
Midlands Hindu Society seeks to provide some hope in this time of immense need hence we are calling on all our people through our affiliates, friends and supporters of Midlands Hindu Society to join us in supporting this initiative in a combined effort to bring relief to the victims of the floods. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam –meaning, “the world is one family”.
Midlands Hindu Society will be embarking on this drive with immediate effect and makes an appeal for canned foods and hygiene products to be collected at your congregations and/or brought to the collection point on Wednesday, 1st May from 8h00 to 12h00 at Aryan Hall, from where the collection will be sent to Durban.
This is the time to get together in the spirit of brotherhood and lend your support. One can of beans may not seem like a lot in isolation but combined with the contribution of other benevolent persons like yourself, it could make a huge difference to those that have nothing. Nature does not discriminate hence this is our time to lend support.
Ubuntu – “I am, because you are”. Together we can make a difference.
