Newly Qualified Marriage Officers

The days of having your Hindu wedding ceremony and the registration of the marriage on different days are coming to an end with more Hindu priests being registered as marriage officers.
Due largely to the efforts by the South African Hindu Maha Sabha, the drive to have Hindu priests recognised as marriage officers has borne fruit with nine newly qualified marriage officers being added to the Midlands region.
Midlands Hindu Society is proud to present various qualifying priests from the Midlands region who have qualified recently and are ready to serve their community.
Amongst the first batch of Hindu priests to qualify as Marriage Officers from the Pietermaritzburg community are Pt Ashwin Sewsunker, Pt Sanil Maharaj, Pt Rajesh Maharaj, Pta Devika Ramesar and Mr Naresh Amichand seen with President of the South African Hindu Maha Sabha, Ashwin Trikamjee , a representative from the Dept of Home Affairs and qualifying priests from the Durban region.

The second batch of qualifying priests included L-R Pt Praniel Maharaj, Pt Rupan Nehal, Pt Chan Bridgemohan, and Pt Rajesh Ramesar seen with Ashwin Trikamjee (SAHMS) and Naveen Singh from the Dept of Home Affairs.

Midlands Hindu Society would like to congratulate all qualifying priests on their constant efforts to add even more value to their roles within the community they serve.
Should you require the services of any of the priests or marriage officers, please find their contact details on the Midlands Hindu Society website
